Let me start by dispelling a myth for you. There is no such thing as a self-employed mortgage.
A mortgage is a mortgage, whether you’re employed, whether you’re self-employed, whether you’re a business owner, whether you’re a contractor, everybody gets exactly the same mortgage. So, what is a self-employed mortgage is an irrelevant question.
The question you should be asking yourself is how do you get a mortgage? Because depending on your circumstances, and this goes for everybody, depending on your individual unique circumstances, how your income is made up is going to determine which lender is the right one for you and that also comes back to how much you want to borrow, how much deposit you have and what your personal circumstances are and what the future looks like for you.
