Making the move to self-employment – or switching firms – can feel like a big step. Here are the answers to the questions we hear most.
There is no monthly fee and no joining cost. You earn, we support. Commission rates start at 60% and increase based on your written business, reaching up to 85%.
You need to be a qualified mortgage and protection adviser – CeMAP or equivalent. We work best with advisers who are already doing the job and want to do it better. We don’t train you from scratch.
As a directly authorised (DA) firm, Active Mortgages holds its own FCA permissions rather than operating under a network. This gives you access to more business types, typically higher commission rates, and greater flexibility – without you needing to hold your own authorisation.

A structured onboarding programme led by our Sales and Operations Manager – covering sales conversations, protection, personal brand, lead generation, and the systems you’ll use to run your business. Weekly coaching sessions for new joiners are included.
